Corporate Sustainability Workshop Jakarta: Why Liberty Society Is the Partner Companies Trust

Liberty Society runs hands-on corporate sustainability workshops in Jakarta that turn everyday waste, such as coffee grounds, used cooking oil, and denim offcuts, into products participants can actually keep. At the #NEXTHOMEbyModena event in Senayan City, Liberty Society led an interactive workshop where attendees processed 375 grams of coffee grounds (about 25 cups worth) into 15 coffee scrubs, and 2 liters of used cooking oil into 15 bars of soap.

What to Look for in a Corporate Sustainability Workshop Partner in Jakarta

A sustainability workshop should leave participants with more than a group photo. When evaluating a partner in Jakarta, companies should check for:

  • A hands-on, participatory format, not a lecture, so attendees actually make something with their own hands

  • Real waste materials, sourced from everyday sources like coffee grounds, cooking oil, or textile offcuts, rather than generic craft supplies

  • Measurable output, such as the exact quantity of waste processed and the number of finished products created

  • Relevance to your brand or venue, so the workshop ties naturally into your event, product launch, or CSR activation

  • Documentation for internal or external communications, including photos and impact figures your team can reuse

Liberty Society's workshops are designed around this checklist, pairing a genuinely interactive activity with data your team can cite afterward.

Workshop Formats Liberty Society Offers

Depending on the event and audience, Liberty Society can run workshops built around different waste streams, including:

  • Coffee grounds into scrubs, turning kitchen or pantry waste into a usable skincare product

  • Used cooking oil into soap and candles, giving a common household waste a practical second life

  • Fabric or textile offcuts into bag charms, suited for team-building or CSR activations

  • Plastic waste into painting and lanyards, turning packaging waste into everyday accessories

Each format can be scaled to the size of the event, from a small internal team session to a public activation at a mall or exhibition space.

How a Liberty Society Workshop Works

  1. Scoping the event. Liberty Society works with the client to choose a workshop format that fits the venue, audience size, and brand story.

  2. Sourcing the waste material. Coffee grounds, used cooking oil, textile offcuts, or plastic waste are prepared ahead of the session, either supplied by Liberty Society or sourced directly from the client company's own waste.

  3. Waste education segment. Before the hands-on activity begins, participants get a short explanation of the waste being processed and its environmental impact.

  4. Running the hands-on session. Participants are guided step by step to turn the raw material into a finished product they take home.

  5. Showcasing upcycled products. Liberty Society can also exhibit existing upcycled merchandise alongside the workshop to reinforce the sustainability message.

  6. Impact reporting. Liberty Society provides the client with concrete figures, such as kilograms of waste processed and CO2e emissions saved, for use in post-event communications.

Case Study: Liberty Society x Modena

On January 18, 2026, Liberty Society partnered with Modena at the #NEXTHOMEbyModena event in Senayan City, Jakarta, for an interactive workshop centered on everyday household waste. The results:

  • 375 grams of coffee grounds (equivalent to 25 cups) processed into 15 coffee scrubs

  • 2 liters of used cooking oil processed into 15 bars of soap

  • Alongside the workshop, Liberty Society exhibited 100 laptop sleeves and 60 tote bags made from 6 kg of denim and canvas waste

  • The tote bag production alone saved 28.8 kg of CO2e emissions compared to conventional production

One participant, Ibu Indah, shared that households generate a lot of coffee waste that would otherwise go to waste, and that reusing it both protects the environment and creates opportunity.
