APRIL (Asia Pacific Resources International Limited) Group is one of the largest pulp and paper manufacturers in the world. Their flagship product, PaperOne, has been sold to 70 countries worldwide, while committing to sustainability in the business.
Throughout manufacturing production waste, APRIL Group stored their fabric waste (52.12 kg) to give it new values. Collaboration with Liberty Society helps them to turn the waste into 385 upcycled tote bags. With 9 people involved, they earned IDR 15.516.000 as their income.
As a company uses woods as the primary raw materials, Liberty Society connect them with local artisan, GARIS (specialized in upcycling teak wood). There are 300 pcs of upcycling notebook from paper and wood waste. In total, 50kg was recycled.
Tote bags, upcycled notebooks, along with Liberty Society’s batik upcycled card wallets (200 pcs), APRIL Group gave it to their stakeholders as merchandise.
