Through Liberty Society's upcycling service, 826.27kg of waste in total was collected from Deloitte's waste collection in August-September 2022. From the accumulated waste, 454 kgs of low-density polyethylene plastic was upcycled into 2,010 laptop sleeves and cardholders as internal merchandise by our makers.
Moreover, we joined Deloitte Indonesia and Rekosistem in hosting an internal webinar, sharing the significance of sustainable company practices and how they can support sustainable corporate initiatives. About 500+ employees participated in this event.
Deloitte Indonesia's "Trash to Treasure" is an excellent example of how companies can engage their employees in a green mission together.
A finding from a recent study by the National Environmental Education states that almost 90 percent of employees engaged in their company's sustainability initiatives say it enhances their job satisfaction and overall feelings about the company. Employees also note that they feel the most significant impact when they can integrate sustainability practices into his or her job or personal daily life.
Companies also benefited from the internal sustainability campaign. By boosting employees' commitment to them, companies can improve business outcomes while creating a positive societal impact and helping accomplish corporate sustainability goals.
Sustainability has become an important commitment for Deloitte and it is apparent through “Trash to Treasure” campaign. Liberty Society is honored to have worked with a leading company like Deloitte which has taken real action on its commitment!
